Continuing Education: The Clergy Family—After the Benediction
July 30, 2020 - August 1, 2020
$25.00
July 30 and 31, 2020 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm through August 1, 2020, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm This is an ONLINE course.
This course will explore the experiences of clergy families within the context of marriage, family, and ministry. Our discussion will include role expectations, social support, and spiritual disciplines.
Clergy and laity, whether married or single, will examine components of the clergy family’s experience–family life, ministry roles and involvement, congregational boundaries (or lack thereof), and relationship challenges to identify and understand areas of conflict and stressors associated with the clergy family and ministry.
Dr. Pam Smith has a passion for ministering to clergy couples with a special interest in encouraging, equipping, and empowering ministers’ and pastors’ spouses. She currently serves as president of the United Missionary Baptist Association (UMBA) Ministers’ Wives; Widows Auxiliary–Charlotte. Dr. Smith hosts a monthly group conference call exclusively for ministers’ and pastors’ wives called Let’s Chat S.I.S.
(Sisters Inspiring Sisters). She recently founded, Uniquely You S.I.S., an organization that provides clergy wives and women preachers valuable opportunities to network and cultivate relationships.
